SANDYBROOK NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION

INFORMATION REGARDING THE DEVELOPMENT EAST OF SANDYBROOK - THE PARKS ON RANDOL MILL

A developer (Woodhaven Homes) is currently in the planning stages of the property to our east. This property extends south from Randol Mill to Fay Blvd, West of Williams Rd., and East of Sandybrook Dr and our park. Their first plat which was denied had 268 single family lots and 12.9 acres of Multi Family (232 apartments). As some of you may remember all this land is currently zoned for Multi family is a total of 76.5 acres. The planned name for this subdivision is “The Parks on Randol Mill”. We have in the past agreed to support single family development on this property but not Multi Family. The Plan Commission denied the plat as it currently stands at their meeting on Aug 25, 2004. The John T. White Neighborhood Association came out against this plat because of the lot sizes (40 & 50 X 110). This makes the lots smaller than ours. A few people that I have talked to agree that the lot sizes are to small. Most of the homes around the east side of the property have at least ½ acres. Our rep on the Plan Commission would like to see no smaller than 10,000 SQ FT lots. The John T. White NA would like to see ½ acre lots minimum The good news for us is that, at this time they have no plans to have homes border our park or to open up Sandybrook Dr.. The web site will be updated with more information as it becomes available.
